Stainless steel pipe butt weld reducing tees are used to create a 90° branch connection where the branch size is smaller than the main run. This fitting allows a reduction in line size at the branch while maintaining a welded, pressure-rated joint. Reducing tees are commonly selected where flow needs to be diverted to a smaller secondary line without using multiple fittings, helping keep pipework compact, strong, and streamlined.

Butt weld reducing tees are welded directly into the pipe system, providing a smooth internal profile and excellent mechanical strength. Because the joint is welded rather than threaded, there are fewer potential leak points and improved long-term reliability in demanding environments. Reducing tees are suitable for industrial pipework that operates under pressure, experiences vibration, or is exposed to temperature changes.

This product is supplied in a mill finish. Mill finish stainless fittings provide a clean, uniform surface suited to general industrial installation and fabrication. Depending on the application and system specification, reducing tees may be supplied in common stainless steel grades such as 304 for general-purpose corrosion resistance, or 316 for enhanced resistance in coastal, marine, chemical, and wash-down environments.
