Stainless steel pipe eccentric reducers are used to transition between two different pipe sizes while maintaining a flat edge on one side of the fitting. Unlike concentric reducers, an eccentric reducer has an offset centerline, allowing the reducer to be installed with a “flat on top” or “flat on bottom” orientation. This helps avoid air pockets in horizontal lines (flat on top) or assists with drainage and preventing liquid pooling (flat on bottom), making eccentric reducers a common choice in process and pump suction pipework.

Eccentric reducers are butt welded into the system, creating a strong, permanent joint and a clean internal flow path. Welded stainless fittings reduce leak points and are well suited to pressure-rated pipework exposed to vibration and temperature variation. This range is supplied in a mill finish and is shown in Grade 316 stainless steel, which provides excellent corrosion resistance in coastal, marine, chemical, and wash-down environments where chlorides or aggressive media may be present.

Sizes listed cover common nominal bores (NB) with corresponding outside diameters (OD). Options are available to suit SCH10 and SCH40 pipe schedules depending on the size reduction required, supporting correct wall thickness alignment and reliable weld integrity. Selecting the appropriate schedule helps ensure easier fit-up and consistent welding results.

Stainless eccentric reducers are widely used in food and beverage processing, water and wastewater treatment, petrochemical and refining, pharmaceutical systems, and general industrial stainless pipework. They are also a standard fitting for fabrication shops building pump skids, manifolds, and plant services. For controlled, reliable pipe size transitions, especially in horizontal runs, 316 stainless eccentric reducers are a proven, industry-standard solution.
