Grade 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which provides enhanced resistance to chlorides and aggressive conditions, making it ideal for wash-down areas, coastal and marine installations, and chemical processing environments. Standard 45° bends are supplied with a 1.6mm wall thickness, providing a good balance between strength and ease of fabrication. Availability varies by size and grade, with the table indicating which sizes are offered in 304 and/or 316 stainless steel. In addition to standard bends, a “Zero Tang” 45° bend is also available in Grade 304 for selected sizes. This option is particularly useful in fabrication work where minimal straight length at the ends of the bend is required.
